Blue Chalcedony

Blue Chalcedony is known as the Speaker's Stone, and encourages reflection and meditation, opening energetic doorways to manifest our thoughts into the spoken or written word, while also holding back words we might regret as it supports us to really listen to those around us, including our guides. Blue Chalcedony specifically opens the mind to new ideas, washing away any rigidity of thinking.

Chalcedony is a member of the Quartz family with a cryptocrystalline structure, which is perfect for magnifying its crystal energy to soothe and restore balance, from the conscious mind to the inner child, all the way down to the animal self. Its name is derived from the Greek port city of Chalcedon, and the ancient Mediterranean civilizations of Greece, Egypt, and Rome, all known for their philosophers and writers, prized it and used different types Chalcedony for jewelry, carvings, and mosaics.

Chalcedony is also considered a sacred stone by many Native American tribes and was used to promote stability during ceremonies. It is still in use today for meditations, and as a pathway for receiving successful thought transmissions.

Considered a nurturing stone, Chalcedony absorbs negative energy and dissipates it before it can be passed on. It promotes sisterhood and goodwill, opening the mind to new ideas, instilling feelings of benevolence and generosity. Placing it in the Northern part of our altar or home invites the soothing, playful energy of water, which can be glimpsed when you see the drop like wave patterns in the rosette. As a stone of peace and peace-making, Blue Chalcedony encourages stillness and calm in the home, workplace, or even in our daily commute.
